Recap: Green Mountain Rams vs. Chatfield Chargers
The Green Mountain Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Chatfield 82-64. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Green Mountain has managed all season.
Green Mountain had a senior duo take command as Blake Weslin scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and Austin Beeson scored 16 points. The contest was Beeson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Simon Lunsford, who scored ten points.
Defeat or not, Chatfield got some senior leadership from Clayton Childs who scored 15 points and Tony Rondinelli who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Childs scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Teff, who scored eight points.
Green Mountain's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Chatfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Green Mountain will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pueblo South at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Pueblo South is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Chatfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fruita Monument at 1:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
