Preview: Musselman Applemen vs. Hedgesville Eagles
Musselman has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Hedgesville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Musselman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Musselman faced the Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Musselman fell to the Cougars 43-38. Musselman has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Musselman had strong showings from Troy Woolaston, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, and Wade Bartles, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Mcclain, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Hedgesville came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday and fell 57-50.
Musselman's record now sits at 10-5. Hedgesville's record now sits at 10-3.
Musselman opened the new year with a less-than-successful 37-30 defeat to the Eagles. Can Musselman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
