Softball Game Preview: Elsinore Tigers vs. San Jacinto Tigers

Elsinore will face off against San Jacinto at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Elsinore is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs last Friday, they were much more limited against Temescal Canyon on Friday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 12-1. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Jacinto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against West Valley on Friday as they made off with a 21-5 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Lucy Barreras made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Keyera Cameron was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kamorah Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

San Jacinto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Elsinore's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for San Jacinto, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Elsinore took their win against San Jacinto in their previous matchup on April 11th by a conclusive 14-6 score. Will Elsinore repeat their success, or does San Jacinto has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
