Maize South had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Arkansas City Bulldogs by a score of 52-45 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Arkansas City still got an impressive performance from Saliyah Henderson-Johnson, who shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Henderson-Johnson is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Kierslynn Waggoner, who posted nine points and three steals.
