Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

After flying high against Chesterton Academy of Sacramento last Monday, Trinity Christian came back down to earth. The Trinity Christian Eagles took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Futures Knights on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian lost, don't look at Christofer Thomas. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points. Thomas' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Lucas Hiriscau was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Futures was led to victory by Chris Collins and Daniel Kozlov. Collins dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards, while Kozlov dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Collins a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Anthoni Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Trinity Christian suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 15-3. As for Futures, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Trinity Christian will host Winters at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season. As for Futures, they are taking a road trip to square off against Foresthill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Futures knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Foresthill likes a good challenge.
