Basketball Recap: Festus Extends Winning Streak to Three

Festus entered their tilt with Central on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 69-56 victory over Central. Given Festus' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Central is ranked 267th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abbi Davenport, who posted 15 points and five boards. Davenport continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayden Kirn, who earned ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Festus' win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Festus has already played their next matchup (against Perryville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Central, they will face off against New Madrid County Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
