Recap: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. McKinney North Bulldogs
The Denison Yellow Jackets lost against the McKinney North Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Denison was dealt a 72-34 loss at the hands of McKinney North. Denison has struggled against McKinney North recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Kaelyn Hamilton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for McKinney North, scoring 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The matchup was Hamilton's 22nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciara Harris, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Denison has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for McKinney North, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lovejoy at 3:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Lovejoy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denison in Texas (Lovejoy is ranked 131st, while Denison is ranked 543rd). McKinney North will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mansfield at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
