Recap: Downers Grove South Mustangs vs. Proviso East Pirates
After flying high against the Addison Trail Blazers last Tuesday, the Downers Grove South Mustangs came back down to earth. Downers Grove South fell just short of Proviso East by a score of 66-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Downers Grove South has suffered yet this season.
Proviso East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Robinson led the charge by scoring 18 points. That's the first time this season that Robinson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Pickens, who scored 15 points.
Downers Grove South's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Proviso East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downers Grove South won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Metamora at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th.
