Softball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Lions vs. Ira Bulldogs

The Trinity Christian Lions will take on the Ira Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Trinity Christian lost 13-2 to Southwest Christian School on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trinity Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Bates, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Bates also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ira, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let Roby get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Juarez was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Juarez was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Edith Cabrera was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Ally Flanagan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Ira always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ira's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
