Softball Recap: Riverheads Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Riverheads took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Wilson Memorial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gladiators had just enough and edged out the Green Hornets 4-3 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Gladiators have won by just one run.

Riverheads' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for Wilson Memorial, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverheads will take on Waynesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Little Giants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.77 runs per game on average), something the Gladiators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilson Memorial, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Broadway at 6:00 p.m.
