Baseball Game Preview: Aledo Bearcats vs. Saginaw Rough Riders

The Aledo Bearcats will face off against the Saginaw Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Aledo's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Saginaw has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Aledo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Birdville with a sharp 15-5 win on Saturday.

Ethan Hodo looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Luke Sandefur was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Miller Hill, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Saginaw didn't have quite enough to beat Brock on Saturday and fell 5-3.

Aledo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Saginaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19-1.

Aledo was able to grind out a solid win over Saginaw in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Rough Riders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
