Basketball Recap: Aeria Hagans Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat East Laurens

Washington County lost to East Laurens last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Washington County Golden Hawks came out on top against the East Laurens Falcons by a score of 56-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Hawks.

Washington County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aeria Hagans out in front who posted 17 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Hagans has posted since back in December of 2024. Jade Kitchens was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deanna Lowther, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Lowther is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayla Givens, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Washington County's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for East Laurens, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Washington County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-20 victory against Jefferson County on the 7th. East Laurens has also already played their next matchup (against Treutlen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
