Football Recap: Houston Takes a Loss

Houston had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it four. They were outmatched by the Tupelo Golden Wave and fell 45-7. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Canon Day threw for 65 yards on six of 17 attempts. Leif Osborne was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Raderius Robertson rushed for 65 yards.

As for Tupelo, their record is now 3-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in Mississippi, while Houston is ranked 27th in Tennessee).

Jaeden Hill went supernova, rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for eight yards and one TD. Kylan Bobo was another key back, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston will square off against Bartlett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 26.2 points per game this season. As for Tupelo, they will face off against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
