Softball Recap: North Point Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

North Point won against Lackey last Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Patuxent Panthers by a score of 10-5. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matches in a row.

Alyssa Blaney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, North Point saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

North Point pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Patuxent, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

North Point didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 victory against Westlake on the 3rd. As for Patuxent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against Chopticon on the 4th.
