Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mill Valley walked away with it. They never let the Maize Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Mill Valley, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Mill Valley pushed their record up to 13-1-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. As for Maize, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

Mill Valley and Maize are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Jaguars will face off against Washburn Rural at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Washburn Rural will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Mill Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maize, they will challenge Blue Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maize are facing Blue Valley at the right time seeing as Blue Valley are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
