Baseball Game Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Hillsboro Eagles

The Ferris Yellowjackets will face off against the Hillsboro Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ferris is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 24th on Saturday. They lost 10-2 to Castleberry. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ky Creek made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jose Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro posted their closest win since February 29, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Italy, sneaking past 11-9.

Hillsboro got a massive performance out of Connor Creech, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Creech a new career-high. Mason Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Ferris' loss dropped their record down to 3-5-3. As for Hillsboro, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Ferris came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillsboro when the teams last played on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ferris since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
