Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Catholic Hawks vs. Windermere Wolverines

After a string of eight wins, the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Windermere by a score of 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Santa Fe Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Danilo Stankovic, who scored 20 points, and Tate Darner who scored 18 points along with six assists. Darner has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Toby Lane, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Santa Fe Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Windermere, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Santa Fe Catholic and the Coyotes will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Four Corners will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Hawks are ranked 31st). As for Windermere, they will face off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cypress Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
