Baseball Recap: Hebron Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Hebron proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 16) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the South Newton Rebels 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Saturday.

Camden Mulhern looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen Walstra was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Adam Gill, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hebron is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for South Newton, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Hebron will square off against Hammond Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Newton, they will welcome Seeger at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
