Baseball Recap: Ennis Beats Sunset for Their Third Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Ennis had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Sunset Bison on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Blaze Neil tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keno Castillo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Lane Slovak was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The victory was the third in a row for Ennis, bringing their record up to 29-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sunset, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 23-11-1.

Ennis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bison: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
