Softball Recap: Gunter's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Gunter and Hughes Springs squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Gunter had to settle for second. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gunter moved to 24-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Hughes Springs, the win (which was their 24th in a row) raised their record to 27-3.

While Gunter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
