Baseball Recap: Montcalm Takes a Loss

Montcalm had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it eight. They lost 13-3 to the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 10-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Jefferson Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Jefferson Christian Academy's part, Wesley Tenorio made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tenorio was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Lee was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Snidow, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.

Montcalm will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Twin Valley at 5:00 p.m. on May 1. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they will challenge Elk Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
