Basketball Recap: New Bern Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Jamie Lavoie and Faith Huffman

New Bern Christian Academy lost against Trinity Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. New Bern Christian Academy received a blow as they fell 55-40 to the Trinity Christian Tigers.

Despite the defeat, New Bern Christian Academy had strong showings from Faith Huffman, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 19 points, and Jamie Lavoie, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Huffman has posted since back in January of 2024.

Riley Burnham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten boards for Trinity Christian. The match was Burnham's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Macey Skinner, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

New Bern Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 31-5.
