Baseball Game Preview: Dewar Dragons vs. Central Tigers

Dewar has gone a perfect 3-0 against Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Dragons will square off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Dewar is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Dewar not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2025 (when they won 18-1). Everything went their way against Weleetka as they made off with a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lukas Walden and Traber Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Walden went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Jones went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cooper McGee also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Dewar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They blew past Roland 13-2 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Dewar's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Dewar got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 against Central by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
