Basketball Recap: Sedgwick County Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Sedgwick County had won two straight road games and Lainee Nein did her part to make it three on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 43-30 win over the Akron Rams for which the team can thank Nein, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sedgwick County's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ryen Carlson, who posted eight points and five boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Akron still got an impressive performance from Kashlee Randel, who put up 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Sedgwick County's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Akron, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.

Sedgwick County has already played their next contest, a 58-26 defeat against Merino on the 28th. As for Akron, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-49 loss against Holyoke on the 28th.
