Volleyball Recap: Northgate Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Northgate couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis Cougars on Tuesday. The Broncos' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

While Northgate had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Conor Walsh and Ingmar Nordberg, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Zeon Hubp and his 35 assists.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 40-4. As for Clovis, their win bumped their record up to 29-4.

Northgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clovis, they will face off against Archbishop Mitty at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
