Softball Recap: Ellet Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Ellet's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Norton Panthers by a score of 5-2. The Orangemen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Rylie Sprouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Riley Kearns was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Lulu Russell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Ellet's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Norton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellet will host Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Norton, they will welcome Medina Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.33 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
