Baseball Recap: Desert View Triumphs

While Desert View's victory against Pueblo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Warriors 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Joshua Valenzuela was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Desert View: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Joseph Moreno also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Desert View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo struck out 12 times.

Desert View's record now sits at 7-11. As for Pueblo, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Desert View beat the Warriors by a score of 8-6 later that day.
