Basketball Recap: St. Michael's Takes a Loss

St. Michael lost against Robertson back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The St. Michael's Horsemen were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Robertson Cardinals. While the Horsemen didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cardinals 21-10 in the first quarter.

Robertson found their leader in freshman Arianna Martinez, who went 6-for-10 en route to 20 points. Martinez's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Martinez, who posted 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Michael's and nudges their season record down to 9-16. As for Robertson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Coincidentally, St. Michael's and Robertson will both be playing Santa Fe Indian the next time they take the court. Robertson will head out to face Santa Fe Indian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. Michael's will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
