Softball Recap: R.A. Long Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask R.A. Long). Everything went their way against the Washougal Panthers on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lumberjacks needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

R.A. Long's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6-1. As for Washougal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

R.A. Long and Washougal could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Lumberjacks will face off against Woodland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (242 vs. 108). Meanwhile, Washougal (ranked 235th) will meet Mark Morris (ranked 14th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
