Softball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

Southside managed to slip by North East Carolina Prep the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Southside lost 7-1 to North East Carolina Prep on Monday. The Seahawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Husky earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Lily McLean made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last seven times she's played.

Southside is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. As for North East Carolina Prep, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Southside will head out on the road to take on Greene Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southside is facing Greene Central at the right time seeing as Greene Central is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for North East Carolina Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Martin County on the 25th.
