Baseball Recap: Dexter Drops Season-High Score on Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dexter). They put the hurt on the Lincoln Railsplitters with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Dreadnaughts as they're now sitting on six straight.

Jack Sayler was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jake Stepaniak, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dexter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted an OBP of .250.

Dexter's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-22.

Dexter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Railsplitters: the pair will be back at it again later today.
