Football Recap: Demi Williamson and Brooke Grace Pace Citrus Defense

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Citrus can now relate to. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lecanto Panthers on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss back in March.

Although Citrus took the loss, they still got scores from Myrina Reardon and Demi Williamson.

Citrus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Williamson and Brooke Grace. Kirsten Sanders was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks and making eight total tackles (8.0 for loss).

Citrus has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Lecanto, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Citrus is taking a road trip to take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The Sharks will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hurricanes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lecanto, they have already played their next matchup, a 26-0 defeat against Hernando on the 15th.
