Baseball Game Preview: Ingleside Mustangs vs. Sinton Pirates

Ingleside is 0-10 against Sinton since March of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Ingleside came up short against Rockport-Fulton and fell 4-1.

Meanwhile, Sinton had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sandcrabs a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Adrian DeAses's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kash Wood, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Nate Mutchler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sinton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ingleside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1.

Ingleside suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Sinton in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
