Baseball Recap: Osage City's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Osage City entered their tilt with Chase County on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Sawyer Speece and Max Pearson did most of the damage at the plate: Speece went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Pearson got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Pearson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan McKinney, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Osage City's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chase County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Coming up, Osage City will host Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chase County, they will take on Olpe on Tuesday.
