Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ansonia). They blew past the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks 66-29 on Friday. With the Tigers ahead 58-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Mississinawa Valley still got an impressive performance from Kyle Wehrkamp, who rushed for 131 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Ashton Amspaugh was in the mix too, providing the Blackhawks with two TDs.

The win was the fifth in a row for Ansonia, bringing their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for Mississinawa Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Ansonia will welcome New Bremen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mississinawa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
