It's playoff time, and Archbishop Mitty had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Rodriguez Mustangs 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Monarchs, who have now won five games in a row.

Archbishop Mitty got a great performance from Gabe Lopez as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Mitty's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Noah Fishman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Archbishop Mitty's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Rodriguez, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-9.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Mitty will square off against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Monarchs 3.7, the Wildcats 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Rodriguez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
