Baseball Recap: Excel Takes a Loss

Excel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 14, 2024.

Excel's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excel will face off against T.R. Miller at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mobile Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
