Softball Recap: Regis Beats Gervais for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Regis had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They blew past the Gervais Cougars 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 14 games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Addie Bishop was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Maddie Hendricks, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Regis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in nine consecutive matches.

Regis pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gervais, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8-1.

Regis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gervais, they will challenge Toledo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
