Softball Game Preview: Payson Longhorns vs. San Tan Foothills Sabercats

The Payson Longhorns will take on the San Tan Foothills Sabercats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Payson fell victim to Snowflake and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lobos by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Longhorns' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Payson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alayna Dewald, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, San Tan Foothills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 23-9 to Florence.

San Tan Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Payson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Payson took their win against San Tan Foothills in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 21-3 score. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sabercats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
