Basketball Recap: Garyn Jackson and Austin Davie Secure Win for Campbell County

Campbell County won the last time they faced Newport Central Catholic and things went their way on Monday too. The Campbell County Camels enjoyed a cozy 77-59 win over the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Camels.

Campbell County was led to victory by Austin Davie and Garyn Jackson. Davie went 9-for-14 en route to 24 points and seven boards, while Jackson went 10-for-11 to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds. The game was Davie's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Lucas Anthrop was another key player, putting up ten points.

Campbell County's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Newport Central Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.

Campbell County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-48 win against St. Henry on the 18th. As for Newport Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Newport Central Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Dayton likes a good challenge.
