Baseball Game Preview: Granby Rams vs. Wahconah Regional Warriors

The Granby Rams will take on the Wahconah Regional Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wahconah Regional took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Granby, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Granby turned things around against Sabis International on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Bulldogs.

Anthony Misiaszek was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Gavin Moreno was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wahconah Regional lost 19-4 to Taconic on Friday.

James Rabuse was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Wahconah Regional's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Luke Ferguson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Granby's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Wahconah Regional, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Granby came out on top in a nail-biter against Wahconah Regional when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
