Basketball Recap: Brashier Middle College Charter Starts Season with Win at Home

Brashier Middle College Charter took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 52-41 victory over the First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders. The Bengal have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Brashier Middle College Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Hagan out in front who posted 11 points and three steals. Those 11 points gave Hagan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Hagan, who scored eight points and three steals.

Despite the loss, First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marshall Bears earned 15 points and six rebounds.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Brashier Middle College Charter has already played their next contest, a 54-42 loss against Southside Christian on the 25th. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-30 victory against Whitmire on the 25th.
