Baseball Recap: Saugatuck Takes a Loss

Saugatuck blew Kellogg out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Kellogg got their revenge. The Trailblazers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-4. The Trailblazers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Saugatuck saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cass Stanberry, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Morgan Davis was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Saugatuck now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Kellogg, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Saugatuck will head out to face off against Galesburg-Augusta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trailblazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Kellogg, they will welcome Lawton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
