Baseball Game Preview: Gateway Gators vs. Connellsville Falcons

Gateway is 0-3 against Connellsville since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Gators will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m.

Gateway is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plum.

Meanwhile, Connellsville got themselves on the board against Gateway on Monday, but Gateway never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Gators. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Mason Miller's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connellsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Firestone, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Firestone has hit this season.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Connellsville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
