Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. Chaminade-Madonna Lions
NSU University has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Chaminade-Madonna Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. NSU University has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,444 points over their last 19 matchups.
NSU University pushed their score all the way to 80 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 88-80 to Hialeah Educational Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Thursday (66), NSU University still had to take the loss.
NSU University's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dwight Gaines, who scored 30 points, and Anthony Ferrer who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaines has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darwin Brooks, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Chaminade-Madonna escaped with a win on Monday against Doral Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.
NSU University's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they pushed their record up to 9-12 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
NSU University beat Chaminade-Madonna 73-61 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for NSU University since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
