Baseball Recap: Monett Wins Going Away Against Sarcoxie

Monett got themselves on the board against Sarcoxie on Monday, but Sarcoxie never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bears. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Michael Privett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Privett was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Braden Cendroski was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aidan Clapper, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Monett and bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Sarcoxie, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
