Basketball Recap: Mountain Vista Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mountain Vista can now relate to. They fell 79-69 to the Eaglecrest Raptors on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Mountain Vista's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oliver Junker, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards. The matchup was Junker's third in a row with at least 16 points. Cal Baskind was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Mountain Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Eaglecrest, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-2.

Mountain Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eaglecrest, they will square off against Valor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valor Christian will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Eaglecrest surely won't give up without a fight.
