Softball Recap: California Lutheran's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

California Lutheran came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs 15-9. That's two games straight that the C-Hawks have won by exactly six runs.

Cailin Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Emily French was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmony Ehinger, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

California Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

California Lutheran will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cubs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
