Volleyball Recap: Northeast Eagles vs. Lawson Lightning

It was a good run, but Northeast unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lawson Lightning by a score of 2-1.

Northeast took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-12.

Even though they lost, Northeast kept the net locked down and finished the game with 15 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in August.

Among those leading the charge was Katalyna Ortiz, who had 15 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last three games she's played.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lawson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Northeast will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Rossview at 7:00 p.m. Rossview will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Northeast surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lawson, they will take on Waverly Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lawson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
