Softball Recap: Garrard County Comes Up Short

Garrard County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Lexington Catholic Knights, falling 23-7.

Garrard County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazlyn Shelton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Shelton has launched this season. Zoe Jordon was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Garrard County's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Lexington Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garrard County will host Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lexington Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
